The Earth Is Full

You really do have to wonder whether a few years from now we’ll look back at the first decade of the 21st century — when food prices spiked, energy prices soared, world population surged, tornados plowed through cities, floods and droughts set records, populations were displaced and governments were threatened by the confluence of it all — and ask ourselves: What were we thinking? How did we not panic when the evidence was so obvious that we’d crossed some growth/climate/natural resource/population redlines all at once?

“The only answer can be denial,” argues Paul Gilding, the veteran Australian environmentalist-entrepreneur, who described this moment in a new book called “The Great Disruption: Why the Climate Crisis Will Bring On the End of Shopping and the Birth of a New World.” “When you are surrounded by something so big that requires you to change everything about the way you think and see the world, then denial is the natural response. But the longer we wait, the bigger the response required.”

Gilding cites the work of the Global Footprint Network, an alliance of scientists, which calculates how many “planet Earths” we need to sustain our current growth rates. G.F.N. measures how much land and water area we need to produce the resources we consume and absorb our waste, using prevailing technology. On the whole, says G.F.N., we are currently growing at a rate that is using up the Earth’s resources far faster than they can be sustainably replenished, so we are eating into the future. Right now, global growth is using about 1.5 Earths. “Having only one planet makes this a rather significant problem,” says Gilding.

This is not science fiction. This is what happens when our system of growth and the system of nature hit the wall at once. While in Yemen last year, I saw a tanker truck delivering water in the capital, Sana. Why? Because Sana could be the first big city in the world to run out of water, within a decade. That is what happens when one generation in one country lives at 150 percent of sustainable capacity.

“If you cut down more trees than you grow, you run out of trees,” writes Gilding. “If you put additional nitrogen into a water system, you change the type and quantity of life that water can support. If you thicken the Earth’s CO2 blanket, the Earth gets warmer. If you do all these and many more things at once, you change the way the whole system of planet Earth behaves, with social, economic, and life support impacts. This is not speculation; this is high school science.”

100 Weird Facts About the Human Body

The human body is an incredibly complex and intricate system, one that still baffles doctors and researchers on a regular basis despite thousands of years of medical knowledge.

As a result, it shouldn’t be any surprise that even body parts and functions we deal with every day have bizarre or unexpected facts and explanations behind them.

From sneezes to fingernail growth, here are 100 weird, wacky, and interesting facts about the human body.

The Brain
The human brain is the most complex and least understood part of the human anatomy. There may be a lot we don’t know, but here are a few interesting facts that we’ve got covered.

  1. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Ever wonder how you can react so fast to things around you or why that stubbed toe hurts right away? It’s due to the super-speedy movement of nerve impulses from your brain to the rest of your body and vice versa, bringing reactions at the speed of a high powered luxury sports car.
  2. The brain operates on the same amount of power as 10-watt light bulb. The cartoon image of a light bulb over your head when a great thought occurs isn’t too far off the mark. Your brain generates as much energy as a small light bulb even when you’re sleeping.

What Google’s NFC Android Phones Will Mean For You

Grab your hoverboards, gang: The next generation of Android phones is on the way, and it’s going to feel a bit like something out of Back to the Future II.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt gave us a sneak peek at what’s in store for Android’s newest handsets during a session at the Web 2.0 Summit on Monday (video here). In addition to providing a few new clues about the hotly anticipated Android Gingerbread release, Schmidt revealed that upcoming Android devices would include support for something called Near Field Communication.

Near Field Communication — better known by its acronym, NFC — uses a combination of hardware and software to let you essentially turn your phone into a wallet. Future Android phones will have NFC chips built in, Schmidt said, and the Android Gingerbread release will provide the software needed to allow them to function.

So what’s this NFC stuff all about, and how will it actually work with Google Android smartphones? Here’s a quick primer on what you can expect.

Google’s NFC Android phones will let you make contact-free payments.

Google Android Phones Mobile Wallet

One of the primary ways NFC will be used within Android will be as a mobile payment system, Schmidt says. Thanks to the chips’ short-range wireless capabilities, an NFC-enabled smartphone will allow you to simply wave your device in front of a retailer’s sensor and have your purchase immediately placed onto your credit card or banking account. It’s something Schmidt refers to as a “tap and pay” method of purchasing — and its impact could be enormous.

“This could replace your credit card,” he says.

mass control through network telivision: are your thoughts your own?

  • Why do countless American people go along with the War on Iraq?
  • Why do so many people call for a police state control grid?

A major component to a full understanding of why this kind of governmental and corporate corruption is to discover the modern science of mind control and social engineering. It’s baffling to merely glance at the stacks of documentation that this world government isn’t being constructed for the greater good of humanity.

Although there are a growing number of people waking up the reality of our growing transparent soft cage, there seems to be just enough citizens who are choosing to remain asleep. Worse yet, there are even those who were at least partially awake at one time but found it necessary to return to the slumber of dreamland.

This is no accident; this is a carefully crafted design. The drive to dumb down the populations of planet earth is a classic art that existed before the United States did. One component to understanding and deciphering the systems of control is to become a student of the magicians of influence and propaganda. In order to defeat our enemies (or dictators), its imperative that we understand how they think and what they believe in.

When people think about mind control, they usually think in terms of the classic “conspiracy theory” that refers to Project MkUltra. This program is a proven example of ‘overt mind control.’

The project had grown out of an earlier secret program, known as Bluebird that was officially formed to counter Soviet advances in brainwashing. In reality the CIA had other objectives. An earlier aim was to study methods ‘through which control of an individual may be attained’. The emphasis of experimentation was ‘narco-hypnosis’, the blending of mind altering drugs with carefully hypnotic programming.

A crack CIA team was formed that could travel, at a moments notice, to anywhere in the world. Their task was to test the new interrogation techniques, and ensure that victims would not remember being interrogated and programmed. All manner of narcotics, from marijuana to LSD, heroin and sodium pentathol (the so called ‘truth drug’) were regularly used.

Despite poor initial results, CIA-sponsored mind control program flourished. On 13 April 1953, the super-secret Project MK-ULTRA was born. Its scope was broader than ever before, and only those in the top echelon of the CIA were privy to it.

Official CIA documents describe MK-ULTRA as an ‘umbrella project’ with 149 ‘sub-projects’. Many of these sub-projects dealt with testing illegal drugs for potential field use. Others dealt with electronics. One explored the possibility of activating ‘the human organism by remote control’. Throughout, it remained a major goal to brainwash individuals to become couriers and spies without their knowledge.

When it was formed in 1947, the CIA was forbidden to have any domestic police or internal security powers. In short, it was authorized only to operate ‘overseas’. From the very start MK-ULTRA staff broke this Congressional stipulation and began testing on unwitting American citizens.

Precisely how extensive illegal testing became will never be known.

The horror and neo-slavery of sharecropping

(FinalCall.com) – During a recent visit to see my 91-year-old grandmother, I inquired about her move from Abbevelle, S.C. to Philadelphia. After the death of her mother, my grandmother, Francis Ramsey, said her sharecropper father decided there was no reason to stay and moved the family to Philadelphia. She was six years old when the decision was made and till this very day she still doesn’t understand why there was such an abrupt relocation.

The backbreaking workload precipitated by a post slavery sharecropping economy that left Black farmers always in debt to their White masters is probably the answer behind the decision to move North.

According to the new book The Secret Relationships Between Blacks & Jews: How Jews Gained Control Over The Black American Economy Volume Two, under this slavery-like system, Black farmers “renting on the worst possible terms … had to pay half to two-thirds of their yearly crop to the landlord for the privilege” of sharecropping. And since the sharecropper needed “mules, tools, and seed, along with necessities including food, clothing and shelter, for himself and his family in order to get started in farming,” his only collateral—since he had no money to pay the merchant—was his future crop.

Never able to generate enough money to pay off this debt owed to the merchant and landlord, the Black farmer was resigned to working in a system geared toward enslavement through debt, while his White “masters” waxed fat off of his labor.

Some larger plantations, with many sharecropper farms, printed their own paper money and minted their own coins. These were actually advanced to sharecroppers against the following year’s harvest and to guarantee purchases from plantation stores. The trouble was the money was legal tender only when used at the plantation store, and the price, in most cases, far exceeded the prices at the neighboring town market.

Other more creative methods to exploit Blacks were used including selling government-issued free goods that were supposed to feed the freed slaves. In addition the Whites, and in more cases Jewish merchants, also fleeced this poor sharecropping class by “cooking the books,” or charging more than was actually owed.

In one of the many portraits chronicling the sharecropping system, an intelligent young Black girl schooled in “rudimentary math” discovers she is no match “for the figures at the company store.”In Jean Wheeler Smith’s “Frankie Mae,” (1968) the 13-year-old questions the landowner’s calculations. Barely able to restrain himself from shooting the young girl and her father, the landowner sends them away with these words: “Long as you live, b—h, I’m gonna be right and you gonna be wrong. Now get your black a– outta here.”

[music from To Live & Die in L.A. fades]

[This Week in Bible Prophecy]
God has a plan — and the bible unfolds that wonderful plan
through the message of prophecy
God sent Jesus into this world to be our saviour
And that Christ is returning, someday soon
to unfold the wonderful plan of eternity, for my life and your life
As long as we’re cooperating with God
by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and saviour
And as the Lord does return in the coming seven days
We’ll see you next time here on This Week in Bible Prophecy

4th Quarter Free Throws

Listen to the lyrics we are the one’s prophesied to return
My main concern is for all of you to learn
How to live, yes through the lyrics I give and send my friend
This age is coming to an end

Not the world, but the age is ending, ending
Listen to the astrological message I’m sending, I’m sending
Truth is truth, whether or not you like me
We are living now in the Age of Pisces

But Pisces is over, at the year two thousand
When the Sun of God, changes his house and
Enters the Age of Aquarius
The Sun of God as man is hilarious

When you think of Jesus, think of the Sun
The flaming Sun, that’s where they stole this concept from
Stop believing and read your Bible logically
The New Testament is really old astrology

Jesus is the Son of God no lie
But they might be talking about the Sun up in the sky
The Sun, that hangs on the cross of the zodiac
The zodiac with twelve signs to be exact

Brand Alignment: Why Floyd Mayweather Jr. Should Connect With Don King

“For him it’s all a matter of the disrespect that he’s
feeling and them not listening to him,” King said.
“It’s all about pride and dignity. I understand him
completely because we share a common background
as rising from the ghetto.

“He wants his dignity, his respect and his pride to remain intact and he wants to get paid. That’s where
I come in. I’m the mix master.”

Don King on Floyd Mayweather Jr., as quoted in “Promoter Don King says he and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are ‘hanging out to see what happens’” by Tim Smith; August 1, 2010; New York Daily News

Last week’s Hip-Hoppreneur ™ “D.O.L.N. (The Death Of Live Nation?)” (http://allhiphop.com/stories/editorial/archive/2010/08/10/22329846.aspx) produced incredible feedback which struck me because the theme that each of the numerous emails I received from AllHipHop.com readers shared was some form of respect, appreciation or gratitude for my consistent willingness to deal with business aspects. One individual wrote, “I’ve stated before Mr. Muhammad that ‘a lot of people that do business, don’t know business.’ However, if they read your weekly editorials, they’ll learn business. I thank you for teaching business through your writings.” Another sent in, “The BOTTOM LINE is we truly can’t be dreaming big but still be ignoring business (& not ‘handling our business’).”

While I am honored to receive feedback like this (though I don’t see myself as a ‘Teacher’) and it indicates that my perspective brings something of value to the world’s most dangerous website and its amazing viewership (whom I always love to hear from directly), I still, to this day, find it sad that in a culture and industry with so much to ‘teach’ about economics and business, so few artists, publications, and Hip-Hop talk show hosts are willing to deal with substance beyond the celebrities, gossip, and creative artistry, despite the fact that their fans and consumers crave this kind of knowledge.

The Swine Flu Hoax
