Apple Just Became More Profitable Than Microsoft

It truly is a brave new world.

Not long ago, it seemed written in stone that Microsoft was the big dog on the block, a hugely profitable international force that brushed off advances from its smaller, more “niche” competitors. Now, one of those competitors, a company that almost collapsed just over a decade ago before being saved in part by Microsoft (see above video), has overtaken the house Bill Gates built in profitability. That company is, of course, Apple.

Yesterday, Microsoft posted quarterly earnings showing a profit of $5.23 billion on $16.42 billion in revenues. That number falls short of what Apple recently posted for the same quarter with $5.99 billion in profits on $24.67 billion in revenues.

To be clear, this is the first time this has happened in 20 years.

Of course, it doesn’t take a genius at speculative finance to have seen this coming. In the past decade, Microsoft has had missed opportunity after missed opportunity while Apple has continued to reinvent the industry in its own image with the iPhone and the iPad.

The numbers really just underscore what we already know: This is a new era and Microsoft is being left behind.

Cash Money CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams Cops $8.7 Million Maybach

(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records’ CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams may own the most expensive car ever bought in the history of Hip-Hop, if his tweets are to be considered accurate.

The rap mogul, who has an estimated net worth of over $100 million dollars, is known for his love of expensive cars.

In August of 2010, Williams copped a red Bugatti Veyron worth $2 million dollars.

But he has apparently outdone himself with the purchase of a one-of-a-kind, $8 million dollar Maybach Exelero.

According to reports, the two-seater was originally a high-profile demonstrator commissioned by tiremaking giant Fulda.

The Exelero, which has a V12 bi-turbo engine, can reach speeds in excess of 217 mph. Check out the car below.

According to Birdman’s Twitter, he is currently having the car painted red.

Inspired by Basquiat

this painting by Jean Micheal Basquiat inspired one of my favorite Jay-z freestyles. the “Grammy Family” freestyle is about being a “King” and the perils of success, all inspired by this great Quote on the following painting ”MOST YOUNG KINGS GET THIER HEADS CUT OFF”

“Inspired by Basquiat my Chariots on fire everybody took shots hit my body up im tired…”-Jay-z

jay-z grammy family hot97 radio freestyle (corporate takeover)

drey: arguably one of if not THE  best showcasing of lyrics in this century

a bit after jay ‘retired’

jay-z – grammy family hot97 radio freestyle (corporate takeover) 2006

I been crushin the buildin since Izod socks
I’m so independent sh.. i might buy Koch
I might not stop
Places to cop, 76 floors you can call me the Doc

Inspired by Basquiat,my chariots onf fire
Everybody took shots, hit my body up, I’m tired
Build me up break me down to build me up again
They like “Hov we need you back so we can kill ya ass again”
Hov got flow, though he’s no Big and Pac, but he’s close
How I’m ‘posed to win? They got me fighting ghosts…

Same sword the knight you they gon’ good night you with
Sh.., Thats only half if they like you
That aint even the half what they might do
Dont believe me ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You See Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas, see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide is a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
Media meddles, niggas sue you, you settle
Every step you take, they remind you, you ghetto
So its tough being Bobby Brown
To be Bobby then, you gotta be Bobby now
Now the question is, “Is to have had and lost
Better than not having at [all]?” maaan..

Everybody wanna be the King then shots ring
You layin on your balcony with holes in your dream
Or you Malcolm X’d out, get distracted by screams
Everybody get your hand off my jeans!
Everybody look at you strange say you changed
Uhh! Like you work that hard to stay the same
Uhh! Game stays the same the name changes
So its best for those to not overdose on being famous
Most kings get driven so insane
That they try to hit the same vein that Kurt Cobain did
No dangers, so shameless?
Invited to the intersanctum of yo chambers
??Low chained em as the enemies approach??
So raise ya draw bridge and drown em in the moat
And the Spirit I’m evokin
**Mumbles some BS** Hold on…

Everybody screamin they want the old Hov
But the new improved Hov hit like Albert Pujols
Everybody wanna hear me talk that money like Phil Rizzuto
But my mind is on Pluto
Bills that I do fold, i now invest on
Tryna find some loopholes in the IRS
As where I used to have a few hoes I am just
Concentratin on makin a new hole for sex
I’ve awaken just in time to school those putos
Tryna follow in my shoes wit jewels froze
Better adhere to this tax ‘fore you go
Broke, spendin more than you’ve recouped on silly baguettes
I know silly begets, silly you’ll learn on your own
At least my conscience is clear, I’m no longer steering you wrong
Aint nothing wrong with baguettes after you get a home
Take care of your home, you can go back and **Ugh!**

I’m getting courted by the bosses,
The Edgars And Doug Morris-es-es
Jimmy I’s and Lyors-es its
Gotta be more than the choruses
They respecting my mind now
Just a matter of time now
Operation: Takeover Corporate
Makeover offices-es-es then takeover all of it
Please may these words be recorded
To serve as testimony that i saw it all before it
Came to fruition, sort of a preminition
Uncontrollable, hustler’s ambition
Alien, SUPERSTITION, like Stevie
THE WRITINGS ON THE WALL, like my lady, right BB
Saw it all before some of yall thought I was crazy maybe
Like a fox I’m cagey, Ah Ah!
The more successful, the more stressful
The more and more I transform to Gordan Gekko
In the race to a billion got my face to the ceiling
Got my knees on the floor plz Lord forgive him
Has he lost his religion, is the greed gon’ get him?
He’s having heaven on earth, will his wings still fit him?
I got the Forbes on my living room floor
And I’m still talkin to the poor, ni..a I want more
TIME’s most influential, was impressive
‘Specially since, I wasnt in the artist section
Had me with the builders and the titans
Had me right with Rupie Murdoch
Billionaire Boys and some dudes you never heard of
Word up on Madison Ave, is I’m a Cash cow
Word down on Wall Street homie, you get the cash out
IPO Hov no need for reverse merger
The boy money talk no need to converse further
The baby blue Maybach like I own Gerber
Boardroom I’m liftin ya skirt up
the corporate takeover

beh!nd the curta!n

!llmind gives you his Top 5 reasons to put your money up and cop his new album.]

1. Beats By !ll

The first reason I think people out there should cop it is just because it’s an album of straight, pure beats. There aren’t too many instrumental albums out right now being released on an indie or a major level. I think the game kind of needed a project like this. It needed an album of spaced out beats without taking the focus off anything else but the producer. It’s just a way to give an appreciation toward the production side of hip-hop. So that’s the first reason.

2. Extended Play

The second reason you should pick it up is because it’s something different. It’s not your usual instrumental album. I’ve included the stems to each track on this album, which hasn’t been done before. Basically, in addition to buying the album, you’re getting each instrument in .wav format of each beat. So you get all the drums, the snares, the kicks, all the piano sounds and some of the breaks that I use. You get all that individually in audio format when you purchase the album.

Prodigy Rolls Deep W/ Mister Cee, “To Each His Own If It’s Really Like That”

Mobb Deep’s Prodigy has shared his reaction to Hot 97 radio veteran Mister Cee‘s recent public lewdness arrest in New York City and vouched support regardless of his sexual preference.

P said despite the media hype and reports, Cee can expect support from Mobb Deep at the end of the day.

“I’m just hearing what people saying, and radio, so I really don’t have that much of an opinion about it,” Capital P explained in an interview. “But to each his own man, if it’s really like that. It sounds crazy to me, like Cee is my n*gga. We f*ck with Mister Cee. That n*gga loves Mobb Deep and always shows us love, and plays our music all the time on the radio. He’s one of the only ones that does that. It’s few of them, and he’s one of the main ones. So regardless of what, that n*gga shows us love, and we’re going to show him love back. He’s always going to get new music from us. That n*gga call, we always going to pick up like ‘What’s up? You good?’ If he wants to do a party, whatever. Whatever Mister Cee wants to do, we f*ck with Mister Cee. That’s what it is.” (Complex)
